Good Morning Friends,
Yesterday marked Kanahoma’s one-year anniversary and it was a milestone I couldn’t let pass without saying a quick hello.
You may (or may not) have noticed, but it’s been quite awhile since I sent out one of these newsletters. After months of consistent weekly publishing, Spring into Summer proved to be a particularly challenging and disruptive time.
From the sudden and unexpected loss of a family member, to the rewarding, but all-encompassing, commitments of Fatherhood, the past few months have been a head down, muscle it out grind designed to simply keep it all together.
But as Kanahoma turns one, I’m happy to pause and report that things could not be brighter for us and what we’re building.
The past few months have been filled with growth, as we onboarded four new partners, and the team has expanded to nine, which is simply wild to think about.
As we reach the end of the year, I’m hoping to find sometime to unpack all the lessons learned in our first year as a business. But in the meantime, I’m simply overwhelmed with gratitude.
One year ago today, I was waking up to go to work by myself with one client. We were making money, but not enough to cover our bills, and I was left wondering if I was making a huge mistake.
But today, I’m surrounded by a truly incredible and talented team, working for institutions and organizations we respect and are proud to partner with. And most importantly, we’re putting up numbers.
In our first year, we’ve delivered double-digit year-over-year growth in enrollment, an over 200% increase in website conversion rate, and consistently out-performed expectations; whether we’re managing media, developing creative, or designing strategy.
So one year in, I’m happy to report - we’re still here.
And I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that you are too.
Thanks for being a friend. For taking a few minutes a week to read this newsletter. And for following and sharing this journey with me.
Here’s to a year.
It’s amazing the difference a year can make.
